JAGDA One Day School

The JAGDA One Day School offers special one-day courses for students and young designers who hope to become leading designers of tomorrow. Lecturers are JAGDA members who work at the forefront of design. The curriculum calls for students interacting with lecturers rather than merely sitting in class as with formal school education.
The first was held in 1984, and its teaching method, which stresses communication between students and lecturers via free discussion, work critiques and convivial meetings, has been well supported ever since. Enjoying acclaim , the school has spread to many places in Japan. To date, more than 6,000 designers and students, and 300 lecturers have participated in the school.
The school recounts the "lively experiences and attitudes" of designers, which surpass theories, hence is widely favored. At the same time, lecturers absorb the energy and sense of young aspirants. Through mutual communication that transcends generations, new power for the future is brought to the realm of design world.
